special benny came together in the spring of 2005, in a grotty rehearsal studio in south west london. Sharing a love of tortoise, frank zappa, aphex twin, jim o'rourke and sigur ros (the list of course goes on), special benny started creating music.

special benny consist of mat baynton on guitars, synths and vocals, ben gates on keys and sax, grace cheung on keys and vocals, matt turner on bass and guitar, steve galloway on drums, and tom corbett on guitars and bass. all in their early 20s, special benny are young and beautiful.
